High Stress Keep Healthy!
High Stress Keep Healthy! A demanding job brings with it plenty of stress and the potential for high blood pressure. Repeated medical studies have shown that the more psychologically demanding a job is, the more it can place stress on the heart, the mind and the body. This stress doesnât necessarily stop once you leave work either. It can follow you home, even affecting you while you sleep. This phenomenon is known as high job strain, and it greatly increases the risk of heart disease. It may increase blood pressure by only a small amount, but the effect of that increase on heart disease risk is profound. Who Is Most at Risk? A demanding job can be healthy for some people. It gives them the potential to really shine and put forth their best work, building up their self-esteem and keeping them active all the time. However, when you have a high stress job that allows for very little control, then it can be severely damaging to your health. In other words, any job where there are considerable demands placed upon you, where you have numerous responsibilities and failures brings with it severe consequences, and you have to answer to a boss, that kind of job is considerably stressful and potentially dangerous to your health. What You Can Do about It Stress and high blood pressure are more likely to be problems for you if you arenât getting enough exercise or your diet is an unhealthy one. These are problems that you can improve, even if you cannot change how stressful your job is. You can greatly reduce your risk by controlling your lifestyle and making sure you have a healthy one. People who are overweight, who have diets that are high in cholesterol, who suffer from diabetes or who simply donât exercise their heart muscle very often are all at greater risk for heart disease. They are also going to suffer far more damage from a stressful and demanding job. If you arenât taking care of yourself, then your job is only exacerbating a problem that you are allowing to occur. You want to talk to your doctor before you make major changes to your diet or exercise regimen. Your doctor is likely to advise you to start small and work your way up to your goals. If you have a stressful job and you arenât living a healthy lifestyle, then you should turn to your doctor for help. Your doctor can recommend some changes you can make and may prescribe you medication for your blood pressure. One of the most effective blood pressure medications is Bendroflumethiazide. This diuretic helps eliminate excess fluid build-up in the body by passing it out through the urine. Diuretics are often used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), and Bendroflumethiazide is considered to be one of the best for this condition because of how mild its side effects are. As always, ask your doctor for his or her advice. Why High Blood Pressure Is So Serious For those who donât know, high blood pressure can seem like a minor problem. After all, you may not feel its effects for a long time, so it is common to think, âHow bad can it be?â. However, high blood pressure puts a strain on your blood vessels, on your heart and on the rest of your body. It weakens your heart and your entire cardiovascular system, making them work harder and become exhausted over time. You might not see the effects right away, but you will definitely notice the heart attack, heart failure and atherosclerosis. Anyone who suffers from high blood pressure for very long will have serious heart problems later in life. Even if they get the problem corrected and lower their blood pressure, their heart may take years to recover fully. Thatâs why medicating this condition and changing up your lifestyle to incorporate healthier habits is so important. Image credits Main Others via Wikimedia
